Beautiful Small Home with Natural Façade Design
I fall in love with this beautiful house design at first sight. Great concept and very well executed to smallest detail. Aptly named La Concha House, this family house was designed by London based architecture firm MOOARC. With a design that seems perfectly planned to ensure the coziest possible living space for family home, this homey family home design definitely has what it takes to inspire.
The façade made by natural local stone. It create welcoming feeling to the owner and guest. Inspired by The Nolli plan of Rome’ 1748, La Concha House filled with natural lighting through the large glass window.
The internal volume of the 15th Century barn forms the heart of the home. On the lower level, kitchen and dining is position below a more formal living space up on a mezzanine level. A more relaxed living/play space is set at the front of the house, opening out to a terrace. At the rear, the sleeping block is linked to the living space via the entrance and vertical circulation. I think this project is very nicely done. The modest scale, the sensitive use of local and reused materials referencing the vernacular without being held captive by it and the balance of shelter and openness are all appealing here. So captivating and inspiring crib!
