Drafted in march 2005 this concrete building design completed in almost 2 years with a total budget of 360000€ covering in 490 meters square. Madrid isn’t only well known for its football for the past years of Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, but they’re also well known with the historical and great home design and building structure. Just like this home design located in Los Penascales.
The assignment was to design a volume of two identical houses. In addition to meeting the needs raised by the client, ICA S.L.P Architecture offered the possibility that the two houses might eventually become one, and contemplating a broader stage to adapt to future needs. Reframing the order is sought to project a two-family detached house. A housing development then being builds on the location of mountains at the north of Madrid, a hillside in an area that descends to the south, coinciding with the best views of Mount Brown and the skyline and the distant city. Trees which are found there actually not natives, the natives vegetation was merely just shrubs.
The house is organized on three levels: the first half buried and almost hidden, it solves the encounter with the slope and generates a shaded place perfect for the vehicles parking lot, the second contains the living area completed and wrapped in glasses, finally, the third level contains the bedrooms on the lower floor generates two porches at each end and an overhang that allows the entry of sunlight in winter and protected from impact during the hot summer months.
The household items are associated with each other to reduce the furniture to a single item thus leave spaces at the ground floor storage, kitchen, a sitting area and the windshield post. On the first floor all the closets are concentrated in a single strip attached to the front improves the thermal conditions of the house. Now you can enjoy the house while you’re watching La Liga Espana.
